Liverpool and Tottenham have been dealt a blow in the transfer market as Fulham defender Ryan Sessegnon has officially signed a new contract with the club.
17-year-old Ryan Sessegnon has signed a new contract at club Fulham. The left-back has penned a new three-year deal keeping him at the West-London club until 2020. Furthermore this is also his first professional contract in football.
For some time Sessegnon had been attracting interest from Premier League clubs. The likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool had been touting his development.
The England Under-19 international played 25 games for the Cottagers last season, putting in some notable performances.
Sessegnon has been with Fulham since 2008 and made his first-team debut in August of last year against Leyton Orient in the EFL Cup, aged just 16 years old. Then in the same week he would score his first professional goal against Cardiff City.
There is no doubt that Sessegnon shall be part of manager Slavisa Jokanovic’s plans next season. After playing a important role in Fulham’s success last season, he shall no doubt attain even more importance next season.
