Le Tissier reveals who he thinks will win the Premier League

Southampton and Premier League legend Matt Le Tissier has revealed who he thinks will be crowned Premier League Champions this season.

With the English top-flight on a break for the latest round of International fixtures, many fans and pundits have been taking the time to assess the state of play after eight games of the 2018/19 season.

Reigning Champions Man City, Jurgen Klopp’s highly-rated Liverpool and Maurizio Sarri’s impressive Chelsea team are all currently unbeaten and can only be separated by goal difference at the top of the table.

However, Le Tissier reckons Pep Guardiola’s City side simply have too much quality throughout their squad and he expects the Citizens to be crowned Premier League Champions for a second successive season this term.

“I still think Manchester City. They have so much quality and strength in depth and over the course of the season that will give them the edge. Even without someone who was considered to be their best player last season in Kevin De Bruyne, they’re still sitting top of the table after eight games.’’ Le Tissier told Sky Sports.

“Many people thought they were going to miss him a lot and obviously that quality of player is going to be a bit of a miss, but their strength in depth is just incredible and what they’ve got in terms of quality forward players and being able to hurt teams in different areas of the pitch.

”They should be a couple of points clear but Riyad Mahrez’s penalty against Liverpool was an absolute shocker.”
