Le Tissier tips ‘under the radar’ Chelsea for Premier League title charge

Southampton and Premier League legend Matt Le Tissier has tipped Chelsea to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Few fans and pundits expected the Stamford Bridge outfit to win the title at the start of the campaign, but with eight games gone Maurizio Sarri’s side remain unbeaten and sit level at the top of the table on 20 points alongside pre-season favourites Manchester City and Liverpool.

Le Tissier has been impressed with what he has seen from the Blues so far and he reckons that if Eden Hazard can maintain his current blistering form then Sarri’s side will be in with a shout when English Football’s biggest prize is handed out next May.

“Chelsea have just sneaked in there. The form of Eden Hazard is a big factor in what they’re doing. I watched them play against Southampton at the weekend and it was like men against boys. They were a completely different standard to Southampton,” Le Tissier told Sky Sports.

“They were very impressive, kept the ball well, controlled the game from a possession point of view, and just looked a lot more dangerous. They have sneaked under the radar a bit and if Hazard keeps this form up you wouldn’t rule them out being in the chase up until May.”
