Chelsea boss Frank Lampard heaped praise on his players and his clubs fans after the Blues hugely impressive 2-0 win over Spurs today at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Despite going into the game having won just one of their last five Premier League games, Chelsea put on a superb display against their London rivals, a first-half brace from man of the match Willian, sealing a crucial win for Lampard’s side.
Today’s win sees Chelsea consolidate their place in the top four, moving four points clear of fifth place Sheffield United, but more importantly six clear of former manager Jose Mourinho’s Spurs side.
Speaking after the game Lampard thanked Blues fans for their support after a tough run of results and praised his players for producing such a top-class display under massive pressure.

“It means a lot to me but it’s about the club and the fans. The fans have come here after a number of losses and they have backed us. They know we are a young team and what we are trying to achieve,” Lampard told his post-match press conference.
“My players showed they could fight and play against a top team, because Tottenham are a good team. Today we were everything that’s why we should be celebrating. We are not over excited but we are pleased with the performance.
“They are a major rival and it shows the players what they can do under pressure and what they need to do to survive in games, You cannot fault their commitment. When you play with a three at the back, it’s not easy – especially here. You have to be brave and they are all that.”
