Mateo Kovacic has voiced his delight at sealing his season-long loan move from Real Madrid to Chelsea.
The highly rated 24-year-old Croatia international moved to the Bernabeu for £25 million in 2015 from Inter Milan, but rather unsurprisingly, he has struggled to dislodge Los Blancos superb midfield triumphant of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Casemiro.
Kovacic announced before the World Cup that he would be looking to leave the Spanish capital this summer in search of regular first-team football
He has now moved to Chelsea on a season long loan move as part of the deal that saw goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois move to Real Madrid.
Speaking at his official unveiling Kovacic revealed how happy he was to seal a move to Stamford Bridge.
“I am really happy and excited to be here at Chelsea. It is an amazing feeling. I will try to do my best for this club,” He told Chelsea’s official website.
“It is a new league for me, the beginning is always tough but I am sure the coach and my new team-mates will help me and I am looking forward to a great season.”
