Klopp advises £67 million goalkeeper Alisson to ‘be yourself.’

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been discussing the advice he has given his sides new goalkeeper Alisson ahead of his Premier League debut tomorrow.

Alisson enjoyed a brief reign as the most expensive goalkeeper of all time after moving to Liverpool for £67 million from Roma earlier this summer, until Chelsea paid £71 million to take 23-year-old Spain international ‘keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to Stamford Bridge.

Brazil number one Alisson won rave reviews for his performances in Serie A last season and has even been labelled as the ‘Messi of goalkeepers.’

The 25-year-old will make his Premier League debut tomorrow when the Reds face West Ham, and in the build-up to the game, Jurgen Klopp has revealed that advice he has given his new ‘keeper:

“Just be a goalkeeper. Be yourself, in this case, because he is very calm and laid back – and that helps,” the Liverpool told a pre-match press conference.

“It’s about making the right decisions in the right moments. It’s all good. He’s settled really quick, as if he’s been here longer than two weeks. That’s all fine.”
