Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City transfer target, Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich

Kimmich shuts down Bayern Munich exit rumours

Joshua Kimmich has shut down speculation suggesting he is keen to leave Bayern Munich this summer.

Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been linked with signing the midfielder, who will enter the final season of his contract with the Bundesliga champions in the summer.

Recent reports have suggested Kimmich is open to leaving Bayern Munich in search of a new challenge, following a disappointing domestic campaign at the Allianz Arena.

The 29-year-old has won eight consecutive Bundesliga titles since signing for Bayern from RB Leipzig, though the club’s stranglehold on the German top-flight is in danger of ending with Thomas Tuchel’s side seven points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the title race, having played a game more.

Bayern have also confirmed that Tuchel will leave his role as manager at the end of the season, though Kimmich has no immediate plans to look elsewhere.

Speaking on his future in comments reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Germany international said he is focused on producing his best football for Bayern and reiterated his happiness at the club.

“My contract is still valid until 2025, I want to show my best for this club and then we will see what happens,” Kimmich said.

“For sure I’m happy here, I’m happy with the club and city of course.”
