Kepa looking forward to ‘great challenge’ after sealing Chelsea move

New Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has revealed that he is looking forward to the challenge of playing in the Premier League.

Spain international Kepa became the most expensive goalkeeper of all time last night, when Chelsea announced his £71 million signing from La Liga side Athletic Bilbao.

The 23-year-old was officially unveiled by the Stamford Bridge club earlier today and he admitted that he is looking forward to taking the next step in his career, while the highly rated young ‘keeper also revealed that he will not be affected by his hefty price tag.

“I’m incredibly happy to be here, this is a great challenge for me and it means a lot in my career and personal life,’ said our new signing,” Kepa told Chelsea’s official website.

“It’s a great step forward in my career, and very brave of the club to take me in. In terms of the price, it’s something I don’t think about. I just want to be myself, the same as I’ve always been, and try to give my best for the club.

“I came back from my holiday on 23 July and a few days into my training I knew about Chelsea’s interest in me. There had been prior offers but Athletic are a club that doesn’t usually take an interest in these transfers. I’ve been aware of the interest Chelsea had for a few weeks now.”

Chelsea will kick off their Premier League campaign away to Huddersfield on Saturday
