Keane says Rashford is ‘back to his best’ as hot-streak continues

Roy Keane believes Marcus Rashford is ‘back to his best’ as the forward continued his fine form with a goal for England in their Euro 2020 qualifying win over Montenegro on Thursday night.

The Manchester United forward was on the scoresheet as England secured qualification for next summer’s European Championships with a 7-0 thumping of the hapless visitors at Wembley, his eighth goal in his past nine appearances in all competitions for club and country.

The 22-year-old came under criticism earlier this season after a series of below-par displays but has returned to form over the past few weeks, and former United captain Keane believes Rashford’s confidence has returned following his recent impressive performances.

“He looks like he has got his confidence back, I think in the last month or so,” Keane said on ITV.

“And what players have to remember, when we’ve been criticising them before, there’s a compliment in there because we believe he’s a really good player.

“His confidence is up and running again and he looks back to his best.”
