Juventus set to ignore Pogba pleas on future

Juventus are set to ignore Paul Pogba’s pleas to remain with the Italian side upon his return from a doping ban.

Pogba was hit with a four-year ban from football in February, having been provisionally suspended since September last year, after he tested positive for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA). He has since seen the suspension reduced to 18 months by the court of arbitration for sport (Cas) upon appeal. He will be free to resume playing in March 2025.

Currently contracted to Juventus, Pogba has outlined his intention to repay the club and earn a place in Thiago Motta’s plans.

“I’m willing to take a salary cut to stay at Juventus,” he told Gazzetta.

“I’m just thinking about training and playing for Juventus. It’s not me that needs to speak, the pitch will do the talking and Thiago Motta will judge with his eyes.

“Will I join AC Milan? Impossible. Even if (Zlatan) Ibrahimović calls me, he knows I won’t betray Juve”, Pogba told Sky Sports amid links with rivals AC Milan.

“I do not see myself with any other jersey. My focus is on getting back into the Juve shirt.”

However, Tuttomercatoweb are reporting that Juventus do not consider Pogba as part of their project under Motta and plans remain in motion to make him a free agent.
