Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has said that Mikel Arteta is already a ‘fantastic manager’.
Over recent weeks, Arteta has been linked with potential returns to two of his former clubs, Arsenal and Everton, both sides currently without a permanent manager following the sackings of Unai Emery and Marco Silva respectively.
Man City boss Pep Guardiola has always spoken highly about the qualities of his assistant, insisting that he is good enough to take his first forrays into management, and that is something that has been backed up by striker Gabriel Jesus, who has described the former midfielder as ‘a fantastic guy and fantastic manager’.
“He’s helped a lot of players. When I want to do finishing after training, I tell him and he comes and helps me,” Jesus said, as per the Mail.
“So he is really fantastic for us. All the players know that — everyone knows that in the club. He is a fantastic guy and fantastic manager.
“I don’t honestly know what he thinks about his career, that is for him. I hope he can find his way and I hope he can be happy.”
Arteta is currently the odds-on favourite to land the managers role at the Emirates, drifting in the odds for the Everton job where David Moyes is the favourite for a return to Goodison Park.
Man City face Arsenal at the Emirates in Sunday’s late kick off, Arsenal looking to make up ground on fourth placed Chelsea following their loss to Bournemouth on Saturday.
