Jadon Sancho has not given anything away when quizzed about his future, the England international looking like being at the centre of this summer’s biggest summer transfer story.
The 20-year-old is reportedly the number one transfer target for Manchester United after an impressive season with Borussia Dortmund, scoring 17 goals and providing 16 assists in the Bundesliga this season.
It has been reported that the former Man City academy graduate is keen to return to England following three years in Germany, and while Dortmund are reluctantly willing to sanction his departure, they are not prepared to let him go on the cheap despite the Coronavirus pandemic.
There has been speculation that Dortmund would accept a deal worth around £90 million, though the BBC have since reported that they are keen to ‘stick to their valuation’ which is said to be in excess of £100m, with Sancho still having two years remaining on his deal at the Westfalenstadion.
Asked about his future, the winger was non-committal about his future at the Bundesliga side.
“I don’t know what to say to that,” he told World Soccer Magazine.
“It’s hard to say. That’s the future. You never know what could happen, so we will wait and see.”
A move for Sancho could be determined by United’s ability to secure Champions League football, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side currently level on points with fourth-placed Leicester with two games to go, while their continued involvement in the Europa League would offer a potential alternative route into Europe’s elite tournament.
