Ivan Toney could still leave Brentford by the end of the summer transfer window – but Brentford want at least £60 million for the forward.
The England international has entered the final year of his contract and steadfastly refuses to renew terms with the Bees.
That means the striker could depart the west London outfit on a free transfer in 2025, leaving this summer as the club’s last opportunity to fetch a hefty fee for their star player.
Brentford valued Toney at £100m in January, but their asking price remains steep, which could put off potential suitors who may prefer to wait until next year to sign him.

Chelsea and Manchester United are two interested clubs that may ‘test’ Brentford’s stance with offers of loans with obligations to buy late in the window, according to The Independent.
The Blues are determined to sign another attacker by the end of the month, with Joao Felix potentially returning to Stamford Bridge following his six-month loan move from Atletico Madrid in 2023.
Atleti forward Samu Omorodion appeared set to join Chelsea this week, but the the £33.7 million deal collapsed after it was beset by ‘issues’. Victor Osimhen is another forward who remains on their radar.
Man United’s priority in the transfer market is a new midfielder, but they could still sign Toney if a ‘cost-effective deal’ can be struck.
Arsenal have long been linked with the 28-year-old, but Mikel Arteta decided not to follow through on the club’s interest and pursue other options in the window.
Spurs had also been previously linked with Toney and remain an ‘outside option’, although it appears unlikely they will shell out the money required after signing Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank admitted in February that Toney will most likely be sold in the summer”, while revealing that the club had not received any bids.
