Inter Milan to lodge improved Lukaku bid

Inter Milan are set to return with an improved bid for Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku.

The Italian giants are ready to return with an improved bid for the forward, having seen an initial offer of a two-year loan with an obligation to buy rejected by United.

Inter Milan have played hardball with United over the last few summers regarding their interest in Ivan Perisic, with reports suggesting United will now do the same regarding the Italian’s interest in Lukaku.

Manchester United are believed to want to recoup the £75m they spent in signing the Belgian from Everton in 2017, though Sky Sports are reporting that Inter’s proposal will be around £60m with bonuses.

Inter boss Antonio Conte is desperate to sign the 26-year-old as he looks to improve his attacking options at the San Siro, with Conte previously failing in attempts to sign Lukaku whilst manager of both Juventus and Chelsea.

Lukaku has made no secret of his desire to move to Serie A, having fallen behind Marcus Rashford in the pecking order at Old Trafford. United are open to selling the forward should their valuation be met, though with just over three weeks left until the English transfer deadline they will want time to find a replacement.
