Marcos Alonso is being linked with a reunion with Antonio Conte at Inter Milan, with Chelsea open to offers for the full-back during the January transfer window.
Alonso has fallen out-of-favour at Stamford Bridge in recent months and has made just six Premier League starts for the season so far, manager Frank Lampard having largely preferred Emerson Palmieri at left-back since his arrival at the club last summer.
Chelsea are now said to be open to offers for the Spaniard as they seek to reinforce their squad during the winter window, with former Blues’ boss Conte believed to be keen to take the 29-year-old to the San Siro.
According to the Telegraph, Alonso is amongst a host of Premier League names being considered by Inter this January, the club also reportedly keen on deals for Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and Chelsea teammate Olivier Giroud.
The Italian side are likely to prefer a loan deal with an option to buy, Conte keen to sign a player who played a key role in the 50-year-old’s title-winning team during his spell in west London, whilst the wing-back also has previous experience of the division following a spell at Fiorentina.
Atletico Madrid also held an interest in Alonso during the summer before pulling out of a deal over the transfer fee, though it remains to be seen whether Diego Simeone’s side will return should Chelsea be prepared to sell at the right price.
