Inter Milan are reportedly in talks with Manchester United over a move for Ashley Young.
The veteran is in the final year of his contract at the club and is free to negotiate with foreign clubs regarding a potential move, the 34-year-old seemingly unlikely to be offered an extension to his current terms to remain at Old Trafford beyond the end of the current campaign.
The Italian side are prepared to offer Young an 18-month contract to move to the San Siro, though it is unclear whether Manchester United would be prepared to allow the full-back to leave during the January window.
According to Sky Sports, Young is among a host of Premier League players currently being considered by Antonio Conte’s side during the transfer window, with moves for Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and wantaway Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud also being suggested.
Young is amongst the longest-serving players in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad, having won four major honours since arriving from Aston Villa in 2011, though is influence has decreased in recent seasons and he now finds himself on the periphery following the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and emergence of Brandon Williams.
Should Young make the move, he will become the third United player in less than a year to join Inter, reuniting with former teammates Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez who joined the Serie A side last summer.
