‘I dont see any improvement’ – Mourinho ‘not surprised’ by Manchester United loss to West Ham

Manchester United were deservedly beaten 2-0 by West Ham on Sunday afternoon, and Jose Mourinho says he was not at all surprised.

Mourinho was in charge of a dismal Manchester United performance at the London Stadium 12 months ago, his side on the wrong end of a 3-1 drubbing, before the Portuguese was eventually sacked in December.

Despite an initial bounce following Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s appointment, the Red Devils have somewhat reverted to type in recent months, with today’s result marking 200 days since their last win away from home.

Speaking in his role as a pundit for Sky Sports, former United boss Mourinho said that despite the new management at the club, he is unable to see any improvement, and was not surprised to see them slip to their second defeat of the season.

“We were bad last season but I don’t see any improvement this season – even with three new players,” Mourinho said.

“The team as a team…I don’t like it at all.

“I am not surprised by the result. There were no positives.”

Asked what was wrong with the current United side, Mourinho replied: “I would say, everything!”
