Huge transfer boost for Manchester City and Chelsea

Manchester City and Chelsea have been given a huge boost in their summer transfer plans as Borussia Dortmund are willing to listen to offers of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Both Premier League clubs are believed to be interested in the Gabon international who ended the season as the top goalscorer in the Bundesliga, pipping Robert Lewandowski to the honour by a single goal.

He had previously been strongly linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain before the French club pulled out of a deal as Unai Emery prefers to strengthen his midfield department rather than his strike force.

Despite wanting to keep the striker at the Westfalenstadion, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed to Bild that they are willing to listen to offers for Aubameyang.

“We will listen to it when a club is willing to show its appreciation for Aubameyang in a financial way as well.”

However he did reveal that despite the reported interest, no bids have been lodged for the 27-year-old, who is valued at around £61million.

Chelsea are keen to strengthen their striking options, especially in light of Antonio aconte telling Diego Costa that he is no longer required at the club. They have been linked to a number of strikers, including Romelu Lukaku, Alvaro Morata and most recently Robert Lewandowski.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is also known to be a keen admirer of the striker, and was heavily linked with making a move last summer. With Sergio Aguero seemingly not fancied much by Guardiola, he could be tempted to test the waters over at Borussia Dortmund once again.
