Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe saw his side slip to their third consecutive defeat today as the Cherries lost 2-1 against Arsenal today at Dean Court.
Howe’s side were the better team in the first half, but fell behind on the half-hour mark when record signing Jefferson Lerma scored an outrageous own goal.
However, the home side hit Arsenal on the counter on the stroke of half-time with Josh King’s excellent finish sending the sides in level at the break.
Arsenal started to pile on the pressure in the second half though and a close-range finish by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would seal the victory for Unai Emery’s side.
Speaking after the game Howe revealed that he feels with a bit of luck, his side could have taken something from the game.
“I thought we were well in the match but there are fine margins between winning and losing and the luck was against us,” Howe told BBC’s MOTD.
“Jefferson Lerma’s shot at the end was very close and there were a few goalmouth scrambles where on another day the ball drops our way.”
