With Arsenal set to face Manchester United this weekend, Glenn Hoddle has been praising the talents of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, describing the forward as ‘different class’.
The Gabon international moved to the Premier League in January 2018, making an instant impact, netting 10 goals in his 14 league appearances for Arsenal in the 2018/19 campaign.
His first full season in the Premier League saw him scoop the Golden Boot, Aubameyang sharing the award with Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah having plundered 22 goals, and has followed that up by finding the onion bag six times in six outings this season already.
That gives the 30-year-old a hugely impressive strike-rate of a goal every 107 minutes, and when comparing the Gunners squad to that of Manchester United, Spurs legend Hoddle reckons that Aubameyang would ‘walk into any team’ in world football.
“This fella [Aubamayang] is different class,” he told Premier League Productions.
“How many of those players at United would get into any other team in Europe? I’m not so sure. Paul Pogba at his very best maybe but anyone else I’m not sure. Harry Maguire, possibly.
“Aubameyang would walk into any team. Any team!”
