West Ham’s Javier Hernandez insists his side are targeting European football this season.
After an indifferent start to the season, three consecutive league wins have lifted optimism around The London Stadium and Mexican international Hernandez insists Manuel Pellegrini’s side are aiming high.
Hernandez, who has scored three in his past three games, says qualifying for Europe is the club’s ‘main goal’.
“You always want to have chances and to take them and score,” Hernandez told West Ham’s official website.
“I have always said it doesn’t matter if I score or don’t score, but good strikers want to help their team with their effort, their performances and their movements. Whatever the manager wants us to do, we do, and I will try to help this club.
“This club is in a transition to be one of the top seven clubs every season and that’s what we want, to play in European competition as often as we can.
“That’s the main goal and hopefully we can achieve that this season.”
