Idrissa Gana Gueye is desired by a host of clubs as Everton seek to hold onto their defensive midfielder for the rest of the season.
Arsenal and Manchester City have joined the race for the Toffee’s midfield workhorse, according to Sky Sports News.
Gueye put in a transfer request earlier this week to push through a move to PSG, who reportedly tabled a £21.5m bid last week.
Everton have denied this is the case, but manager Marco Silva opened the door to a possible move in his press conference this week when he said the Senegalese’s future could be “a matter of money“, suggesting the Merseyside club were waiting on the right offer.
Man City have the funds to make such an offer and, although Pep Guardiola only stated earlier this month the club would not be spending money in the January transfer window, it is suspected Gueye is on their shortlist of Fernandinho replacements.
Gueye has featured 20 times for Everton in the Premier League this season, earning praise for his ability to shield the defence.
