Guardiola happy with Man City’s ‘great personality’ after Lyon draw

Premier League Champions Man City progressed to the knockout stages of the Champions League after a 2-2 draw away to French side Lyon tonight.

Pep Guardiola’s side twice had to come from behind to secure qualification, although they will need to take a point from their final game against Hoffenheim at the Etihad to win Group F.

Speaking after the game Guardiola praised his sides personality after they were given a difficult test by Lyon.

“We are so delighted and so happy. It is a big compliment for the team, played one of toughest teams I’ve ever faced.’’ The City boss told BT Sport.

“We reacted after 1-0 and 2-1 and we are in the finals. Now try to get point to finish top. but were so happy to go through.

“We showed great personality to react. We were so strong in that situation.”
