Pep Guardiola has praised Joe Hart as an incredible professional as well as hinting he could incredibly stay at Manchester City this summer.
The former England number one was one of the big name casualties following Pep Guardiola’s arrival at Man City in 2016, with the former Barcelona boss not satisfied with Hart’s ability with the ball at his feet, a key component to Guardiola’s style of play.
He was immediately sent out on loan to Serie A side Torino, before going out on loan again last season to West Ham.
Hart was replaced by former Barcelona ‘keeper Claudio Bravo, but an uninspiring debut campaign saw the Chilean also replaced, with Brazilian stopper Ederson Moraes arriving at the Etihad for a then World Record fee for a goalkeeper.
Hart is now back at Manchester City after West Ham decided against signing him, but despite likely being third choice to given the gloves, Pep Guardiola has praised the English keeper, hinting he could stay at the club for the upcoming Premier League campaign:
“Joe is our player. His situation is that he is here. We will try and find solution for him. If not, he will stay here,” Guardiola said.
“He’s one of the most incredible professionals I’ve ever met. He is training like a young guy of 18 years old.”
Hart is seemingly set for some minutes against Borussia Dortmund in Chicago in the early hours of Saturday morning:
“I know it’s not easy for him given what’s happened in the last period,”Guardiola added. “But he is with us and tomorrow he’s going to play.”
