Andre Gomes has hinted he may be open to staying at Everton permanently after his season-long loan from Barcelona.
Having found opportunities limited at the Spanish champions, the Portuguese international arrived at Goodison Park on a temporary deal in the summer and has impressed with his swift adaptation to English football.
Everton boss Marco Silva is believed to be keen on turning Gomes’ deal into a permanent one, and will be confident of securing the midfielder’s services following the 25-year-old’s comments on his future.
“I am feeling really comfortable here,” Gomes told the LiverpoolEcho.
“We are like a family and it is a huge pleasure and honour to be here and playing for this badge.
“I am one hundred per cent sure [I can enjoy my football at Everton]. That is why I signed for the club.”
Fans’ favourite Gomes will be looking to start for the ninth consecutive fixture when Everton travel to play champions Manchester City at The Etihad on Saturday.
