Gerrard confirms Ryan Kent close to Rangers return

Steven Gerrard has said that Ryan Kent is close to making his return for Rangers after a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Kent – who is on loan at Ibrox from Liverpool – has started eight of the Gers 12 league games this season, scoring three goals but suffered a hamstring injury in training ahead of Rangers’ Europa League trip to face Spartak Moscow earlier this month.

However, with Rangers set to face seventh-placed Livingston in the Scottish Premiership this weekend, manager Steven Gerrard has revealed that the young winger is close to making a return.

“The international break has come at a good time for Ryan Kent because he has had 10 days to two weeks without any games at a really important stage of a hamstring injury,” Gerrard told RangersTV.

“He is probably now a couple of weeks away, hopefully, if everything keeps moving the way it has been, because he is doing really well. He is out on the pitch doing some jogging, so he progressing really well.”
