Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has called on his side to use the Ibrox crowd ‘to our advantage’ when they take on Celtic in the Old Firm derby on Saturday.

Rangers dropped two vital points on Boxing Day when Darren McGregor’s late leveller for Hibernian earned them a 1-1 draw at Ibrox, and Gerrard will be hoping his side can bounce back this weekend.

Gerrard’s side face the league leaders on Saturday lunch time knowing a win will put them level on points at the top, and the Rangers manager has called on his players to use their fanatical home support to their advantage.

“For the Celtic game, we’ll do everything we can to make the starting XI as strong as possible,” Gerrard told the BBC.

“We have to try to use [the home crowd] to our advantage. We owe it to them to find 90 minutes, then we can go and rest.”
