Steven Gerrard says he is certain Liverpool will extend their winning run when they face rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford this weekend.
League leaders Liverpool travel to face Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s struggling Manchester United side on Sunday, looking to maintain their perfect start to the new season and record a ninth successive win.
Jurgen Klopp’s side head into the clash holding an eight-point advantage over defending champions Manchester City, though their lead could be cut to five points should Pep Guardiola’s side win at Crystal Palace on Saturday Evening.
Victory would also see the Merseyside club equal City’s record of 18 consecutive Premier League victories, and former captain Gerrard has tipped the Reds to continue their fine form at the home of their bitter rivals.
“Yes. Liverpool will win,” Rangers boss Gerard told the press ahead of his sides clash with Hearts tomorrow.
“They’ve played eight and won eight. The front three are in fantastic form, they’re not conceding many goals, they’re European champions. Do you want any other reasons why I think Liverpool are going to beat Man United?
“Did you think I was going to say anything different?!”
