Gerrard insists Rangers ‘will never stop fighting’ for Scottish Premiership title

Steven Gerrard says Rangers ‘will never stop fighting’ for the Scottish Premiership title, as his side prepare to face Kilmarnock this weekend.

Rangers currently trail leaders Celtic by eight points, and host Steve Clarke’s fourth-placed Kilmarnock side at Ibrox on Saturday.

Despite Celtic’s healthy advantage at the top of the Premiership, Gerrard insists his side will not give up on the title, but admits they are focused solely on this weekend’s clash.

“We believe we can get closer, and that’s got to be the challenge and that’s what we will try and do all the way to the end,” Gerrard told his pre-match press conference.

“Listen, we will never stop fighting and giving what we can to improve our situation, but let’s not look too far ahead as we’ve got a tough challenge against Kilmarnock at the weekend.

“They will have watched our second-half performance against Hibs and our performance against Aberdeen and they’ll come with a game plan to try and take points away from us or do similar things.

“So we need to first and foremost find a level which is capable of getting a result on the day against Kilmarnock. We’ve got to look at what is in front of us.”
