Former Liverpool striker says fans can inspire Klopp’s men to Champions League final

Liverpool put themselves in a commanding position to qualify for this seasons Champions League semi-final, with a commanding 3-0 victory over Man City on Wednesday night at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s men ran out deserved winners of the quarter-final first leg, putting in a sensational performance in both attack and defence.

Liverpool’s forward players looked razor sharp and their much maligned defence put in a superb performance, stopping Pep Guardiola’s runaway Premier League leaders from having a single shot on goal.

Speaking on Sky Sports The Debate former Liverpool attacker Craig Bellamy revealed just how much of an impact the famous Anfield crowd can have on the clubs players.

โ€œAnfield is a special case, especially in the Champions League,โ€ ย Bellamy said.

โ€œWe were lucky enough to get to the latter stages, we got the the final one year when I was there.

โ€œThe fans can carry you through the quarter-finals, the semi-finals, all the way.

โ€œI remember they even had the stadium rocking for a League Cup semi-final.

โ€œTheyโ€™re incredible. They know theyโ€™ve got the experience to pull their team through.

โ€œTheyโ€™re there from the warm up so as soon as you go out the stadiumโ€™s full โ€“ theyโ€™re ready.โ€
