Sheffield Wednesday forward Steven Fletcher has expressed his excitement for Friday night’s derby against Sheffield United.
The former Sunderland striker insists that the derby days are some of the best experiences in football, and has stated that the Wednesday squad are up for the challenge.
Wednesday have gone through a sticky run of form recently, but Fletcher believes that they can rectify things on Friday night.
“If you can’t get up for these games, then you’re in the wrong job and I know we’re looking forward to it,” Fletcher told Wednesday’s official website.
“This is a good game to put things right.
“To lose four games on the bounce is never nice, but if there’s somewhere to put it right, then Bramall Lane would be a good place to start.
“The mood is still high, the boys are upbeat. It’s a massive game and we’re looking forward to it.”
