Jose Mourinho has been no stranger to controversy during his coaching career and the ‘Special One’ might just be in hot water again.
Mourinho’s Fenerbahce side lost a tempestuous Istanbul derby to arch-rivals Galatasaray this evening, as Victor Osimhen’s secured the latter a 2-1 win in the Turkish Cup. Sebastian Szymaลski pulled one back before the break for Fenerbahce but the home side were unable to find an equaliser.
In stoppage-time it all kicked off, with three red cards dished out as the two sets of players clashed. Galatasaray’s Kerim Demiraby and Baris Alper Yilmaz saw red, alongside Fenerbahce Mert Hakan Yandas.
The two coaches also clashed and Mourinho might just face some retrospective punishment. The 62-year-old appeared to pull at the nose of Okan Buruk, who quite comically fell to the floor clutching his face.
Turkish football is never short of incident and Mourinho has lived up to pantomime villain status this season.
