Everton eye Chelsea and Arsenal midfielders

Everton are interested in bringing in Jack Wilshere and Ruben Loftus-Cheek to the club as Marco Silva plots a summer overhaul.

Silva was finally appointed as Everton manager following the sacking of Sam Allardyce earlier this summer, seven months after the Toffees originally tried to lure him away from Watford.

The Portuguese’s first job will be to get Everton’s supporters back on side after they quickly became disgruntled with Big Sam’s negative tactics.

One thing he will need to do is bolster his playing staff, and reports over the course of this weekend have suggested that he will try to bring the English midfield duo Jack Wilshere and Ruben Loftus-Cheek to Goodison Park.

Wilshere, who has announced that he is set to end his lifelong association with Arsenal this summer, been linked with a move to Everton for a number of months, with the Blues thought to be willing to offer him an £8million signing on fee.

Meanwhile, they are also keen on signing Chelsea outcast Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The midfielder, who started in the 6-1 annihilation of Panama in England’s most recent World Cup game, spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace where he put in some impressive displays, but still seems set to find his road to first team football at Stamford Bride blocked.

While Wilshere will be able to move to wherever he likes this summer on an permanent free transfer, the Mirror claims that Loftus-Cheek may be would only be allowed to leave on loan, with Chelsea still harbouring hope that he will eventually break into the first team squad.

It is also claimed that Silva could get rid of four senior Everton stars – with Morgan Schneiderlin, 28, Yannick Bolasie, 29, Ashley Williams, 33, and Wayne Rooney, 32 all thought to be available.
