Enzo Fernandez has shut down rumours he is keen to quit Chelsea and has said he doesn’t ‘want to leave’ the Premier League side.
Fernandez’s future has been in the headlines in recent weeks with suggestions the Argentine was keen to leave Chelsea, following an underwhelming first 12 months in English football.
The 23-year-old signed for Chelsea in a then-British transfer record deal from Benfica, arriving for a fee of £106.8m in January 2023.
Chelsea have struggled for consistent results during his time at the club and currently sit 10th in the Premier League table, with the West Londoners facing an uphill task to secure European football for next season.
Fernandez has found goalscoring form of late, however, and has scored in back-to-back wins over Aston Villa (FA Cup) and Crystal Palace this week. Following that latter win, the World Cup winner told ESPN that he is happy at Stamford Bridge and has no desire to move on.
“I don’t want to leave Chelsea. I am very good here with my teammates and coaching staff, from the first day I have arrived.
“The people at the club are treating me very well, I’m grateful for that. I will continue here until they want me to.”
