Enzo Fernandez will join Manchester City from Chelsea in a record-breaking deal on Transfer Deadline Day.
The midfielder has been linked with a move to Eastlands for much of the summer after Rodri left City to join Barcelona for £65 million.
Xabi Alonso left the Argentina international out of his matchday squads for the wins over Luton Town and Brighton last week, fuelling speculation over a potential departure.
The saga is about to come to an end as the 25-year-old’s future has now been sorted after the two clubs came to a major agreement.
Enzo Fernandez: Man City ‘agree’ record transfer fee with Chelsea
According to multiple reports, City have agreed to pay £125 million to sign Fernandez from Chelsea.
That fee would match the £125 million that Liverpool spent to buy Alexander Isak from Newcastle United on Deadline Day last summer when they broke the British transfer record.
Fernandez has been granted permission by Chelsea to undergo a medical before he signs his contract with City.
