Emery reveals Arsenal are working to sign two players this month

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has admitted that while the January transfer market can be difficult, the Gunners are working to sign two new players this month.

Spanish coach Emery has previously revealed that Arsenal will only be looking to sign players on loan this month, with the Gunners heavily linked with Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez and Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.

“This transfer [window] is not easy and the message is the club is working on different players and the possibility if it can be is good for us,” Emery told the press ahead of his sides Premier League fixture with Cardiff at the Emirates tomorrow.

“We are looking at two different players and the possibility they can come. If they aren’t coming to help us like we want, I prefer they don’t come.”

However, Emery played down suggestions that the Gunners will be forced sign a centre-back in January, with Laurent Koscielny, Sokratis and Rob Holding all currently out injured.

“We have enough players, centre-backs, in the squad,” Emery added.

“Only we’re having a lot of injuries and a lot in this position.

“If we can bring another player and when all the players want to play, we can have a lot of trouble in the future.”
