Borussia Dortmund are planning for Jadon Sancho’s departure with the German club reluctantly accepting the England international is likely to leave next summer.

Sancho has established himself as one of world football’s most exciting talents since moving to Germany from Manchester City in 2017, the 19-year-old contributing 12 goals and 14 assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances last season.

Manchester United have held a long-standing interest in the teenage winger, whilst former club City are also likely to be interested should Sancho become available.

According to the Daily Mail, Dortmund have accepted it will be difficult to retain the services of Sancho, and have begun searching for potential replacements.

Sancho would likely cost in excess of £100m, though that fee is unlikely to deter either Manchester club. United had considered a move for the forward this summer and are likely to return, whilst City inserted a clause in Sancho’s contract with means they are entitled to be kept informed should Dortmund accept a bid.

The Manchester rivals are unlikely to be the only suitors in the race to sign Sancho, with a host of Europe’s leading sides likely to be interested in a big-money deal next summer.
