Borussia Dortmund are said to be interested in signing Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot before the transfer window deadline.
Dortmund have opened talks with the Red Devils over a deal for Dalot, who has returned to the club this summer after spending last season on loan at AC Milan.
Sky Sports are reporting that the Bundesliga side have made the 22-year-old a transfer target ahead of Tuesday’s deadline, with Dalot facing a fight for regular first-team football at Old Trafford given the presence of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Milan and Bayern Munich have also been credited with an interest in the right-back, though his departure would leave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s desperately side short of depth, with Brandon Williams having been allowed to leave on loan for Norwich.
Dalot’s potential departure could ultimately see the Red Devils renew their interest in Kieran Trippier, having expressed an interest in signing the England international from Atletico Madrid earlier this summer, although the Spanish champions have repeatedly pointed to Trippier’s €40m (£34m) release clause – a figure in excess of what United are said to be willing to pay.
Dalot has struggled to secure first-team football since arriving in the Premier League from Porto in a £19m deal in 2018, making just 20 league appearances across two seasons before his loan spell at the San Siro in 2020/21.
