Borussia Dortmund are ‘determined’ to keep Erling Haaland at the club this summer despite interest from Chelsea.
Chelsea are interested in signing Haaland as the European champions look to bolster their centre-forward options, the west Londoners exploring the possibility of prising the Norway international from the Bundesliga side.
Haaland has been courted by every major club in Europe after exploding onto the scene over the past two seasons, with the 20-year-old scoring 41 goals in just 41 appearances for Dortmund in 2020/21.
The forward was also named as the Bundesliga’s Player of the Season and finished as the leading scorer in the Champions League, and Dortmund are ‘determined’ to keep hold of the star for another season at least.
United have seen an initial offer of around £67m rejected by the Germans, who have set an asking price of €90m (£77.5m) for the England international.
Sancho’s expected departure to the Premier League leaves Chelsea facing a difficult task to convince Dortmund to sell Haaland in the same window and any deal would be in excess of £150m.
Haaland has a release clause of €75m in his contract that will become active from next summer, when renewed interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and several Premier League sides is anticipated.
