Borussia Dortmund will demand a British transfer-record £115m for Jadon Sancho this summer as speculation continues to link the star with a move to Manchester United.
Sancho’s future looks set to be amongst the most high-profile sagas of the summer transfer window with the England international being strongly linked with a return to the Premier League.
The winger has starred once more in the Bundesliga this season to establish himself as arguably the most exciting young talent in world football, scoring 17 league goals and providing a further 16 assists during a stand-out campaign in Germany’s top flight.
Manchester United are believed to be leading the chase for the 20-year-old – who has also attracted interest from big-spending Chelsea – and any Premier League side will have to break their transfer record to sign the highly-coveted youngster this summer.
According to the Telegraph, Dortmund will ‘demand’ a fee of £115m for the player despite the uncertainty currently surrounding the transfer market and Sancho’s issues with the club so far this season.
Sancho was fined and dropped earlier this season for reporting late back from international duty, whilst he was also fined by the German FA last week for breaking government guidelines surrounding Covid-19 to get a haircut.
The report adds that Manchester United are ‘wary of committing to a Premier League record-breaking deal at this stage’ and ‘ill only firm up plans when they have started playing again and know more about which players will be available’.
