Newcastle United have completed the £10million signing of Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle on a five-year deal.
The striker leaves Crystal Palace after three-years at the club to join Championship side Newcastle, as Rafa Benitez looks to revamp the squad ahead of a promotion push.
Upon signing for the Magpies, Gayle told the Newcastle website:
It’s a dream come true to be at a big club like this.
Newcastle has a massive fan base and a great history so it is amazing to be here.
I can’t wait to get started, prove myself and score the goals that take us back up to the Premier League. It’s where this Club belongs
Gayle has previous experience in the Championship, scoring goals for Peterborough back in 2012/13, before securing a move to Crystal Palace.
