Roberto Di Matteo has completed the first signing of his reign at Aston Villa with the capture of Bournemouth captain Tommy Elphick.
Elphick has signed a three-year deal at Aston Villa after completing the £3million transfer from the Bournemouth as he aims to help Villa secure promotion back to the Premier League.
The 28-year old is Aston Villa’s first signing under Roberto Di Matteo’s stewardship at the club and the Italian expressed his delight at the capture on the club’s website.
I’m really pleased to bring Tommy to the football Club.
He is a fantastic player and also a fantastic character which is very important.
He knows what is required to win promotion to the Premier League from the Championship and that experience will be invaluable.
