Denmark team news
Denmark faces a challenging lineup shuffle ahead of tonight’s clash at Parken Stadium. Manager Brian Riemer will be without the services of rising talents Patrick Dorgu and Albert Grønbæk, who were both forced to pull out of the squad after sustaining muscle injuries during training sessions in this international window.
Additionally, veteran playmaker Christian Eriksen remains absent from the active playing group. Despite these setbacks, the Danes boast a formidable attacking unit.
Rasmus Højlund is set to lead the front line as the primary striker, supported creatively by Mikkel Damsgaard and Gustav Isaksen.
In midfield, Morten Hjulmand and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg will anchor the centre, providing a robust shield for a backline expected to feature Joachim Andersen and Rasmus Kristensen. Filip Jörgensen will start in goal, aiming to keep a clean sheet against a dangerous opposition.
Portugal team news
Portugal’s camp has been dominated by the dramatic departure of captain Cristiano Ronaldo, who officially left the squad following growing tension with manager Jorge Jesus after being benched in the recent victory over Norway.
Ronaldo’s absence shifts the attacking spotlight to Gonçalo Ramos, who is expected to start as the central forward after netting the decisive winner in their previous outing.
In a major boost for the visitors, star midfielder Bruno Fernandes is set to return to the starting lineup after missing the Norway match.
He will link up with the inform João Félix, who has found the net in both opening fixtures of the tournament, alongside Pedro Neto.
Vitinha and João Neves are tipped to control the midfield tempo, while Diogo Costa takes his place in goal behind a sturdy defensive pairing of Rúben Dias and Renato Veiga.
Form
Denmark
Denmark enters tonight’s match looking to build consistency following a mixed start to their Nations League campaign. They bounced back from a disappointing 3-2 defeat away against rivals Norway with a convincing 2-0 home victory over Wales at Parken Stadium. Prior to this tournament, the Danes experienced a devastating heartbreak, missing out on the World Cup after a dramatic penalty shootout loss to the Czech Republic in the qualification playoff finals.
Portugal
Portugal remains in spectacular form, sitting comfortably at the top of Group A4 with a perfect record. They opened their Nations League title defence with a narrow 1-0 win against Wales before securing a hard-fought 2-1 away victory over Norway. This strong run follows a solid summer campaign at the World Cup, where they defeated Croatia 2-1 in the knockout stages before falling 1-0 to eventual finalists Spain.
