Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has seemed to let slip that he and his team-mates expect Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez to join them at the Etihad very soon.

The Gunners Chile international has been heavily linked with a January reunion with Pep Guardiola his former manager at Barcelona.

When De Bruyne was asked on his thoughts about Sanchez he stated:

“(He is) a very good player. Obviously we will see what happens in this transfer period.

“If a good player comes to us that is better, if he doesn’t come we do it with the team we have. We are on a good period already – the whole season. Everybody is doing a good job.

“When he comes he will add something to the team.”

Significantly, De Bruyne stated ”when,” and not if in discussing the Arsenal stars potential transfer, which has lead most to conclude that City’s squad expect that his arrival is imminent.

Pep Guardiola’s record breaking squad are obviously not short of attacking talent already, and it is simply scary to think how good they will be if they add the brilliant Sanchez to their already world-class ranks.

Arsenal are said to be willing to let the player leave this month, but not until they have signed a replacement.
