Arsenal have joined the race to sign Brazilian winger Malcom, according to reports.
There seems to be a player in every transfer window that every club gets linked to. Last summer it was Thomas Lemar, who still continues to dominate the headlines, but this January, the name that people seem to be talking about is Bordeaux wideman, Malcom.
The 20-year-old has impressed for the Ligue 1 club this season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in just 18 league appearances, and has been linked with he likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks and months.
Now, according to The Sun, Arsenal have become the latest club to show an interest in his services. They claim that the Gunners have contacted their French counterparts to check on his availability and are set to meet with the players representatives to discuss a potential move.
Bordeaux are keen to hold onto the winger until at least the end of the season, although Les Girondins manager Jocelyn Gourvennec recently admitted that the the clubs board could decide to sell him if a big enough offer comes in.
“I am not worried about seeing Malcom leave this winter. I am building for the future with Malcom. As of today, I cannot imagine him leaving us this month.
“I am not the ultimate decision maker, there are shareholders who decide that. The market remains the market. I hope we keep him.”
The player himself has recently hinted that he is preparing himself for a move to the Premier League.
