David Moyes is set to sign a contract extension at West Ham, despite interest in his services from former club Everton.
Moyes has enjoyed an excellent period since returning to the London Stadium for a second spell in December 2019, guiding the Hammers away from relegation trouble before overseeing a huge improvement during his first full campaign in charge.
West Ham finished the season sixth to secure Europa League qualification and their highest league placing in 22 years, alongside a record points total in the Premier League era.
The Hammers are now keen to reward Moyes – who signed an initial 18-month deal – with a new contract and The Athletic are reporting that the 58-year-old is expected to sign new terms despite interest from Everton.
Everton have been reported to be interested in bringing Moyes back to the club as the Toffees seek a replacement for Carlo Ancelotti, who left earlier this week to take up the manager’s position at Real Madrid.
Moyes previously spent over a decade at Goodison Park and enjoyed huge success, including securing a top-four finish and Champions League qualification during the 2004/05 campaign.
However, talks over a new deal between Moyes and West Ham are set to reach a productive conclusion with the former Manchester United boss expected to sign a new three-year deal.
Attentions will now turn to the transfer market for the east Londoners, with a permanent deal for loanee Jesse Lingard and signing of a new centre-forward believed to be on the club’s radar this summer.
