Dalot and Aarons among Real Madrid targets to replace Carvajal

Diogo Dalot and Max Aarons are reportedly among Real Madrid’s transfer targets to replace Dani Carvajal at right-back.

Real Madrid are considering the sale of Carvajal this summer as the full-back continues to struggle with fitness issues, with the Spain international having started just 24 league fixtures across the past two seasons.

The Spanish side will seek a long-term replacement for the 30-year-old at the end of the season and El Nacional are reporting that Manchester United’s Dalot and Norwich right-back Aarons are among the club’s list of transfer targets.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are considering a number of options ahead of the summer transfer window, with both Dalot and Aarons viewed as attainable targets.

Real Madrid were linked with Dalot last summer after his return to Manchester United from a loan spell at AC Milan, but the 22-year-old remained with the Red Devils and has earned a more prominent role under Ralf Rangnick.

Aarons continues to be linked with an exit from Norwich after impressing in recent seasons and the England u21 international – who has attracted interest from several leading clubs in England – will be expected to leave should the Canaries be relegated from the Premier League this season.

Pedro Porro, who has starred since leaving Manchester City for Sporting Lisbon, is another option, whilst Real could also recall Álvaro Odriozola ahead of next season with the right-back having spent the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Fiorentina.

The Spain international has struggled to command a regular role at the Bernabeu since arriving from Real Sociedad in 2018 and has also spent time on loan at Bayern Munich.
