Crystal Palace will be aiming to recover from their slim Europa League losses when they travel to Turkey to take on Besiktas on Thursday at the Tupras Stadyumu.

The Eagles arrive for this European fixture in a difficult spell after a run of disappointing displays. They were beaten heavily 5-0 by rivals Brighton in their most recent match, exposing major problems in a defence that is already short of players. With Pierre Sage’s team lacking rhythm and belief both at home and in Europe, they are under serious pressure to regain stability and improve defensively.

Crystal Palace team news

Palace head into the game with a major lack of defensive options for Sage. Chadi Riad is still sidelined with a knee injury, while Dean Henderson, Ben Chilwell, and Takehiro Tomiyasu were all absent against Brighton and remain unavailable.

Axel Disasi is back after serving a domestic ban and should lead a temporary back three, joined by Jaydee Canvot and Chris Richards in front of goalkeeper Walter Benítez.

Further forward, Sage can call on Mingueza, Mitchell, Timber, and Wharton across the midfield and wide areas.

Yeremy Pino and Ismaïla Sarr are expected to provide width and support Jørgen Strand Larsen through the middle. Jean-Philippe Mateta and Daichi Kamada are also realistic alternatives as Sage decides on his strongest attacking setup.

Crystal Palace predicted lineup

Possible starting XI: Henderson; Canvot, Disasi, Richards; Mingueza, Timber, Wharton, Mitchell; Pino, Sarr; Strand Larsen

When will the match kick off?

The match will kick off at 8pm BST on Thursday, 23rd October.
