Crystal Palace welcome Nottingham Forest to Selhurst Park on Sunday, with Pierre Sage’s side aiming to recover from their most recent friendly loss.

The Eagles arrive looking for a lift, currently 15th in the table with four points from their opening five matches. Since Sage took charge, Palace have recorded only one win in their previous 12 Premier League fixtures, a run that stretches back into last season. Their sole league success this campaign came in a 3-2 away triumph at Fulham, before they played out a 0-0 draw at Leeds. A major concern has been their form at home, where they have lost both of their league matches at Selhurst Park so far.

Crystal Palace team news

Sage has several important players unavailable, although there are also encouraging fitness updates before Sunday’s game.

Leading forward Jean-Philippe Mateta is still absent, as he continues his recovery from a hamstring problem; he has resumed light work on the grass but is not ready to feature. At the back, Palace are also missing goalkeeper Dean Henderson through an ankle injury and defender Takehiro Tomiyasu because of a muscle issue.

Axel Disasi is unavailable as well, serving a suspension after receiving a straight red card in a recent match.

There is better news elsewhere for the hosts. Anan Khalaili has shaken off a small injury picked up while away on international duty and is fit to be considered. Meanwhile, winger Ismaïla Sarr has been cleared to play after impressing during training throughout the international break, giving Sage a valuable attacking option as Palace chase a much-needed home win.
