Cresswell admits Cardiff ‘fully deserved’ to beat West Ham

West Ham defender Aaron Cresswell admits Cardiff ‘fully deserved’ their win after seeing his side beaten 2-0 at the Premier League strugglers on Saturday.

Goals from Junior Hoilett and Victor Camarasa earned Neil Warnock’s side a vital win in their bid to avoid relegation, and Hammers full-back Cresswell admits The Bluebirds were deserving of the three points.

“We didn’t start well and the crowd were up for it. We knew it would be tough and it certainly was today,’’ Cresswell told BBC.

“All we can do is focus on the next game and work hard. We did well towards the end but we couldn’t get that goal to put them on the back foot.

“If I’m honest, they fully deserved it – we weren’t good enough today.”

Cardiff remain in 18th, two points from safety, while West Ham stay in ninth ahead of their clash with Leicester City next weekend.
